The World’s Leading 200 Companies Flocked to Istanbul

Senior executives came together in Istanbul at the ISCSI 2015 International Supply Chain Summit. Approximately 200 companies that featured companies with their international success, attended the summit, whose main theme was “Supply Chain Cooperation”.

The International Supply Chain Summit, which was held for the third time this year, (3rd International Supply Chain Summit İstanbul-İSCSİ) was held at Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamış Marina Hotel on September 16-17 with approximately 200 local and foreign participants. Venlo and THY joined the ISCSI Summit organizers this year, which has been organized by Slimstock, LODER, DSV, ORTEC, SCM so far. “Turkey’s Most Influential Supply Chain Professionals List” was announced at a gala dinner on the first day of the summit.

In addition, Necmettin BAŞOL (PEPSİCO SC Development and Productivity Manager) in the Best Sustainability Category, Onur YALÇIN (TOFAŞ Supply Chain Director) in the Most Innovative Category, Akın TOROS (Head of Logistics Operations at AKYÜREK PAZARLAMA) in the Best Technology Category and Arif YILDIRIM (KARACA CAM Supply Chain Director) received an award in the Most Efficient / Effective Category.

Members of the jury are Chicago De Paul University Professor Nezih Altay, LODER President Prof. Gülçin Büyüközkan, LODER Vice President Prof. Mehmet Tanyaş, Founder and Owner of SCM Martijn Lofvers and Kumport Marine Container Terminal VP Trade Manager Erhan Tunçbilek.

There were Keynote Speakers

Among the speakers of the summit was Murat Kıran, the founder of Conclusion, who lives in the Netherlands and was selected as the Most Successful Entrepreneur of the Year by The New European Business Confederation. Hero Group Supply Chain Management Vice President Jan Van Rooden, gave information on strategic planning trends and forecasts worldwide. In the summit, Hafele Turkey Supply Chain Director Aysun Savaşkan’s presentation title was “Stock Optimization with Effective Forecasting Management”. Professor of Chicago De Paul University Nezih Altay, Founder and Owner of SCM Martijn Lofvers, Vanderlande Industrial Automation Global Supply Chain Director Edgar Beers, Hepsiburada.com Operations General Manager S. Gürhan Saatçioğlu, Member of the Board of LODER Dr. Haluk Cezayirlioğlu, Vice President of Lenovo Global Logistics Supply Chain Management Mick Jones were among the speakers.

Venlo Municipality of the Netherlands Came for Cooperation

Also providing support to the summit Netherlands Venlo Municipality Vice President Stephen Satij was in Istanbul to discuss the possibility of cooperation with Turkey and with the team to investigate. Satijin invited Turkish companies operating in Europe to Venlo for logistics and warehouse investments.

Songul Sezer, Slimstock Country Manager for Turkey, reminded that the supply chain includes all process from the procurement stage to their production and reaching the final consumer. Also, she added: “Leading companies in the world save millions of dollars with the improvement, planning and management efforts they make in their supply chains. Turkish companies are also achieving significant success by recognizing the importance of supply chain management and taking advantage of the opportunities offered by technology.”

Songül Sezer said that they are very pleased to have held the third of the traditional Supply Chain Summit and the second of the Best Supply Chain Manager Award this year. In addition, she emphasize that they aim to ensure the sharing of global supply chain trends in the new and industry-leading international arena, and to increase cooperation by bringing together today’s and tomorrow’s Supply Chain and Logistics managers in social environments.
