8th Most Influential Supply Chain Professionals of Turkey Award Ceremony

Organized in partnership with Slimstock and Logistics Association (LODER), the 8.”Turkey’s Most Influential Supply Chain Professionals” award ceremony hosted the senior executives of Turkey’s leading companies. The list of “Turkey’s Most Influential Supply Chain Professionals” for 2022 was announced at the gala dinner held at Dedeman Bostancı Hotel on December 8, 2022.

The opening speech was made by Slimstock Turkey Country Manager Songül Sezer and LODER Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. The award night, which was held by Gülçin Büyüközkan, was moderated by LODER Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tanyas took the responsibility.

In her speech, Slimstock Turkey Country Manager Songül Sezer said, “We started working with Slimstock and LODER in 2013, believing that Supply Chain managers and their projects should be made more visible in order to announce the importance of Supply Chain Management. And together with Logistics Subject LODER, we established the Supply Chain Club, we organized the “Most Effective Supply Chain Professionals of Turkey” award ceremony for the first time in 2014. The fact that Supply Chain Management has become a more critical issue day by day, especially with the effect of the pandemic, has shown us that we are on the right track and that we need to make more efforts in this regard. Considering that the presented projects set an example for the sector in terms of the savings they provide to the country’s economy, their contribution to the environment, technological infrastructure and digitalization, we can say that we have accomplished a serious task in this regard. I would like to thank the Supply Chain leaders who did not leave us alone on this path.” said.

 

LODER Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Gülçin Büyüközkan stated that Supply Chain Management has become an important tool for sustainable success and competitive advantage today, and said, “Supply Chain vulnerabilities, especially during the pandemic period, have once again demonstrated how important an effective Supply Chain Management is in every sector. In this process, the “leader” Supply Chain managers, who managed to make their Supply Chain structures resilient and agile, have overcome the process in the most successful way and contributed to the competitiveness of their companies. With the list we announced for the eighth time this year, we aimed to make the importance of Supply Chain Management and the valuable leaders who have realized successful practices in this field more visible. We sincerely congratulate all our supply chain professionals who made the list in the past years and this year and wish them continued success.” he said.

LODER Vice Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tanyaş, on the other hand, said: “One of the important studies in the development of Supply Chains is to make and implement projects in line with the company’s goals and strategies. Project work requires effective and efficient planning, motivation, teamwork and monitoring. At this event, we will listen to the projects selected on the basis of the “Most Sustainable”, “Most Technological”, “Most Innovative” and “Most Effective / Effective” categories from the project owners and select the best supply chain project of the year.”

As the invited speaker of the award night, Istanbul Commerce University English Economics Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Oğuz DEMİR gave a speech titled “Expectations and Scenarios in 2023 Global Economy and Turkish Economy”. In his speech, Oğuz Demir said, “The year 2023 brings with it a lot of risks and opportunities for the global economy and the Turkish economy. On the one hand, the global recession and the resulting slowdown in monetary tightening present opportunities for financial markets, on the other hand, the risk of contraction in international trade together with the recession should be taken into account. In such a period, Turkey will face a general election process in the first half of the year. It is necessary to prepare for the rapid improvement of the fragilities in the economy and the opportunities and risks that may arise at this point to produce results in our favour, within the framework of possible developments that may occur during the election process and afterwards.

This year in the jury; LODER Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Gülçin Büyüközkan, Vice Chairman of the Board of LODER Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tanyaş, Academic Director of INSEAD University Supply Chain Management Program Prof. Dr. Enver Yücesan, Turkish Airlines CCO Turhan Özen and Haribo Turkey General Manager and Board Member Dr. Nazmi Civil took part.

Cenk KARAPINAR, Deputy General Manager of Supply Chain and Transformation, won the award in the “Most Sustainable” project category. The “Most Technological” project award went to SUWEN Supply Chain and Strategy Executive Board Member Dr. Emre EYMUR’s “Most Innovative” project award went to HEPSİBURADA Operational Excellence and Integrated Logistics Director Arif KARACA. AYGAZ Supply Chain Director Elifcan YAZGAN won the “Most Effective / Effective” project award.

AYGAZ received the “Best Project of the Year” award

It was awarded for the first time this year in the “Best Project of the Year”. The project was determined by the votes of the participants in the hall. The Best Project of the Year award was given to the “Distribution Network Optimization” project.
