On Friday 12th September, the Slimstock team — Will Severn, Jenny Lowrie and Phil Linton — were proud to attend the HMS Oardacious Charity Gala. We were delighted to share our table with Saverio from Deloitte and Hannah from GXO, whose company made the evening even more memorable.

What is HMS Oardacious?

HMS Oardacious is an extraordinary Royal Navy initiative where teams of serving submariners take on record-breaking challenges — including rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean — to raise money for mental health, wellbeing, and welfare projects for the Submarine Service community.

Did you know…

The row takes around 35–40 days of non-stop rowing — in two-hour shifts, day and night.
Crews can face 40-foot waves, hurricane-force winds, and must battle sleep deprivation, salt sores, and extreme isolation.
Each rower consumes around 6,000 calories a day just to keep going!
